Get into the Christmas spirit and make the most of the lights, magic and sparkle of the season with a native Spanish teacher to help you understand the traditions, vocabulary and beautiful sights of Madrid at Christmas.
20 December: Ice Skating (€8 – 1.5hrs, including entrance to rink)
22 December: Spanish Workshop – discover Christmas in Spain (€8 – 1.5hrs, including cava and grapes)
29 December: Mercados Navideños (€10 – 3.5hrs)
3 January: Belén + Roscón de Reyes (€15 – 3.5hrs, including entrance to nativity and chocolate and churros)

20 December: 2.30pm – 4pm
Whether you’re an experienced skater or a novice, the winter wouldn’t be complete without wrapping up warm and gliding around on the ice. Our native Spanish teacher will take you to the rink and you can practice your Spanish as you enjoy this seriously festive activity.
22 December: 2.30pm – 4pm
Spanish workshop: Discover Christmas in Spain
Spain has lots of traditions related to this season: el Gordo de Navidad, New Year grapes, the Three Wise Men, among many others. This workshop at LAE Madrid will teach you everything you need to know about Christmas in Spain. This includes a Cava (sparkling wine) tasting, as well as practicing eating the 12 grapes ahead of the New Year!
29 December: 2.30pm – 5.30pm
Wrap up warm and pick up some traditional Christmas goodies at the markets in Madrid. It’s the ideal place for seasonal lights, sweets and decorations! Our native teachers will show you the best markets and explain everything there is to know about Christmas time in the capital of Spain.
3 January: 2.30pm – 5.30pm
Belén + Roscón de Reyes
Join LAE Madrid as we visit one of the most traditional nativity scenes in Madrid. This nativity (Belén) was designed by the artist José Luis Mayo, in collaboration with some of the most well-known nativity scene creators in Madrid. Our native Spanish teacher will explain the history and traditions surrounding the Spanish nativity scenes. We’ll finish the visit on a sweet note with some delicious Roscón de Reyes, a pastry that is eaten to celebrate the epiphany.
